It was built by the Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV as a place for safekeeping the holy relics, and Czech coronation jewels. Many legends have been told about this extraordinary fort: For instance, no women were allowed to enter the castle gates. After the tour, enjoy a relaxing walk in the small, picturesque village of Karlštejn. Explore the myriad of souvenir shops and cozy restaurants, right below the walls.
