Prague Art-Nouveau

3,5 Hours
To admire the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in the world, you need not travel to Vienna or Paris! Come to Prague, and discover how this great and elegant artistic movement helped transform the face of a city already rich in architectural history. Full streets and an entire quarter of Prague’s downtown were rebuilt in Art Nouveau style.
PROGRAM

You will visit the magnificent Municipal House, where you can see during private visite that Art Nouveau does not only mean great architectural style, but stands as an overall work of art; its diverse parts contribute to an overall harmony. The Municipal House still remains as a living cultural center with many concerts, exhibitions, balls, as well as, a beautiful Café and restaurant on the ground floor. In the past, the building was used for highly modern functions – it has 28 electric and hydraulic elevators, remote controlled ventilation system, pneumatic pipe system, central vacuum system and modern telephone exchange. Let yourself be enchanted during our private visit by the beautifully decorated ceilings, harmonic floral wall motives, and chandeliers made of exquisite glass and metals.

Prague’s Mucha Museum is devoted to one of the most important artists of the Art-Nouveau era. Becoming a famous painter from posters he created for the Parisian actress Sarah Bernhardt, Mucha is responsible for some of the most iconic works in modern art. Take time to enjoy his drawings, oil paintings, pastels, sculptures and photographs, as well as a replica of his workshop with original furniture. You will be guided to many more Art Nouveau buildings at the Wenceslas Square, in the Jewish Quarter, and Nation Street. Prague’s Art Nouveau will enchant you, and imprint some wonderful memories to last a lifetime!
